Opening Ceremony Held to Celebrate the Completion of the "Aspire Garden"

The "Aspire Garden," which had been developed as a place for interaction among students, faculty, staff, and local residents using the 70th Anniversary Memorial Project of Tokushima University Fund, has been completed on the east side of the Cafeteria on Josanjima Campus, and the opening ceremony was held on April 24th, 2025.

At the ceremony, President Kawamura Yasuhiko said, "I hope that this garden will add color to your lives and provide you with the motivation to soar into the future."

Afterwards, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held by university officials and students, and under the refreshing blue sky, the Tokushima Kitchencar Society set up food car stalls and distributed free lettuce provided by the Aoiro NPO. Students, faculty and staff who came to the venue naturally had smiles on their faces, making for a lively opening.

The Aspire Garden, named after the word "aspire" which means “longing for” or “to have great ambitions,” is also planned to be used as a place for clubs to present their results, and on the day of the event, there was a choral performance by the Tokushima University LIEDER KREIS.

Going forward, food cars stalls are scheduled to set up in the Aspire Garden twice a month (on the 13th and 27th in May), helping to create a lively atmosphere at university.
