In collaboration with Tokushima Prefecture, the Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning has been offering the recurrent education program: the “Tokushima Healthy Lifespan Body College” since 2019 as an effort to help extend the “healthy lifespan.”

In 2024, the third term of the specialized course was held in the spring and summer, followed by the fourth term of the basic course which ran from September 2024 to February 2025. After approximately five months of lectures and practical training, a certificate presentation ceremony was held on February 18th, 2025 for the nine graduates.

The certificate presentation ceremony began with an opening address by Mr. Tanaka, Director of the Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning, followed by the presentation of certificates. Afterwards, a congratulatory address was given by the guest of honor, Mr. Kawahito Akihiro, Assistant Department Head, Health and Welfare Department, Tokushima Prefectural Government, and a speech of thanks was given on behalf of the graduates to close the ceremony.

The college aims to prevent metabolic syndrome, locomotive syndrome, and even dementia, and offers a program that combines the acquisition and practice of knowledge in various fields related to healthy life expectancy, such as medicine, nutrition and exercise, with human resource development. Graduates are certified as "Healthy Life Expectancy Partners" by the president of Tokushima University and the Governor of Tokushima Prefecture. In addition, those who complete the specialized course and pass the qualification exam are certified as "Tokushima Healthy Life Expectancy Masters," and are active as leaders in local governments, building a system that can improve the health of the community.

In 2025, the Center for Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning is preparing to open the fourth specialized course in May.
